Word From on High
We had to get up to our water heater above the bathroom this week, so ... Word from on High: David (above): The gods finally deigned to...
The Wine Mine is a low key, high service wine shop established in 2007 - with the best pricing, wine for wine, in the East Bay. We have a generous selection of local, international, organic and natural, tiny production to higher production wines from $7 and up with the largest selection below $20 of any independent wine shop for many a mile (and bridge and tunnel).
Whether you're keeping it casual or looking for a special treat, we're confident our selection and service can deliver on both taste and budget. With decades of experience sipping, sniffing, and savoring, we will guide you through the best and most affordable selection in the Bay.
Humble, helpful, and disarmingly funny (not his words), owner and operator David Sharp unearths the wines of the world to present them to you.
He and his staff offer decades of experience and a myriad of relationships with winemakers and vendors to find suitable, and affordable options for anyone who's seeking guidance on their quest to great flavor.
"I look forward to your emails and they are some of the only ones that I open from businesses. They're fun, informative and don't try to sell me something."
"Best wine tastings ever! Where else do you get to try five wines for a dollar while hanging out with friends"
David and Elizabeth are very knowledgeable and never push the pricey stuff. It always seems that when I'm describing a bottle to them they know what I'm talking about. They're super fast at the counter and offer to carry a case out to the car. Try the $1 Saturday tasting (this is after the pandemic ends) and you'll be able to try a bunch of wines in a completely pressure fee situation. The price is right at The Wine Mine.
